The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission is an autonomous
body under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, responsible
directly to the Minister. The Commission has a full-time Director, a group of professional
and support staff, and a Board of 12 professionals whose mandate is to take final
decisions—which get ratified by the Minister—about its areas of
responsibilities.

Our mission is to safeguard the public interest in sound
standards of higher education qualifications and to encourage continuous improvement in the
management of the quality of higher education.
We do this by working with higher education institutions to define academic standards
and quality, and we carry out and publish reviews against these standards.
